Frequently asked questions

How soon can my project be sponsored?

Please allow us two weeks to review your application before reaching out about your project. This gives us time to ensure that your project aligns with our mission and vision, and that we have the appropriate resources to work on your project depending on your needs. To help us speed up the process, please be as detailed as possible in your application.

How much do you charge?

To cover the administrative costs that come with fiscally sponsoring your grant(s) application, we charge a percentage of grant funding. This percentage varies depending on the types of services included, requirements of the project, and other factors, but in general OIWA will charge between 5% - 7%. It is common for fiscal sponsors to charge between 9%-13%, but our goal at OIWA is to keep our costs low and get the majority of funds to our female founders.

How much control will our project have over the way our money is spent?

It is the responsibility of your project to raise funds, prepare annual budgets, and design and carry out your programs. You determine how your money can be spent. OIWA maintains internal control to assure that adequate funds are available and are allocated properly according to the approved budget.

What services do you provide in addition to accounting?

We primarily work on Pre-Approved Grant Relationships, so we are only responsible for distributing charitable funds. However, in addition to these basic services, we are also available to help with grant writing and the administrative needs that come with submitting your grant on a case-by-case basis. If this is something your project is interested in, please indicate that on your application.
